Vê lá só a visibilidade que Portugal/FAP estão a dar à Embraer !!
Só por isso + pelo facto de contribuirmos para a linha de montagem do 390 devíamos ter direito a um desconto !

Portugal Signs KC-390 Deal,
As Hungary Shows InterestAug 22, 2019

The Portuguese government has formally signed up to purchase Embraer’s KC-390 airlifter.
Government officials signed off on the €827 million ($916 million) contract with the Brazilian manufacturer in Evora, Portugal, on Aug. 22, paving the way for first deliveries in 2023.
The signing comes after the government announced it had approved the purchase of five aircraft, a services and support package and a flight simulator in July.
“This contract strengthens the industrial partnership between Portugal and Embraer, contributing to the development of the engineering and aeronautics industry in Portugal,” said Jackson Schneider, CEO of Embraer’s defense business.
Portugal selected the KC-390 as a C-130 Hercules replacement in June 2017, but earlier this year it looked like the negotiations would falter over disagreements on pricing.
Embraer says Portugal will use the aircraft for a wide range of military and civilian missions, including humanitarian support, medical evacuation, search and rescue and firefighting, as well as more traditional operations including troop and cargo transport and aerial refueling.
Portugal also was one of several countries to sign up to purchase aircraft in return for industrial packages. Embraer subsidiary OGMA currently builds the airlifter’s center fuselage, right and left landing gear sponsons and elevators at a site near Lisbon.
The signing comes as Embraer prepares to deliver the first operational KC-390 to its launch customer, the Brazilian Air Force, reportedly as soon as Sept04.
Now Hungary could be a future customer for the airlifter, after it was revealed that advanced talks were underway, according to Brazilian government officials.
Budapest has embarked on an armed forces modernization plan, dubbed Zrinyi 2026, which also calls for the purchase of an airlifter kitted out with an in-flight refueling capability to support its Saab Gripen fighters.
Embraer dispatched the KC-390 that appeared at the Paris Air Show to Papa air base in Hungary after the show for a demonstration to Hungarian defense officials.
