It’s not every day you see a frigate with a 3,600 tonne water displacement move on land!Completing major equipment and systems upgrades, HMAS Parramatta undocked from its berth at the Henderson shipyard and was moved to the site’s Common User Facility. Here, the ship will now undergo outfitting and sea trials ahead of being returned to the #AusNavy.HMAS Parramatta is the eighth and final Anzac class frigate to undertake the Anzac Midlife Capability Assurance Program (AMCAP). The enhancements equipped each vessel with the latest communication and mission critical systems and a new advanced Long-Range Air Search Radar, keeping them a lethal fighting force. The eight-year long program has been a success thanks to the collaboration between the Warship Asset Management Agreement partners: Royal Australian Navy, BAE Systems Australia, Babcock Australia & New Zealand and Saab Australia.📷 #5 credit: Royal Australian Navy
