Correcto. E se repararmos nos sistemas electrónicos e no próprio armamento pouco tem a ver.  


Mesmo os últimos projectos feitos em consonância com os Indianos, como a classe Talwar são bastante diferentes da linha de navios que os soviéticos nos tinham habituado.

O problema, ao que parece está no facto de invés de apostar na construção deste tipo de navios, a marinha e as chefias militares e politicas russas, continuarem a recuperar navios como o Cruzador Admiral Nakhimov, o qual em termos de verbas equivalia à construção de varias unidades deste tipo.

Russian Sailors Denied Access to Mistral Helicopter Carrier: Reports

Russian sailors have been denied access to the French-built Vladivostok helicopter carrier in accordance with a decision made by French authorities, despite the country's Ministry of Defense denying any knowledge of the situation.

MOSCOW, November 18 (Sputnik) – The Russian crew of the French-built, Mistral-class helicopter carrier Vladivostok, currently undergoing training in France,have been denied access to the ship, Ouest-France newspaper reported, citing a defense source.

According to the newspaper's article published on Monday, the decision was made by French authorities, while the French Ministry of Defense has denied being aware of the situation. Ouest-France added that no special security measures were taken on the site.

A total of 550 Russian sailors, with 400 of them the future crew of the Vladivostok helicopter carrier and 150 crewmembers of the Smolny training ship, arrived in the French port town of Saint-Nazaire in June. The first sea trials of the Vladivostok with a Russian crew aboard took place on September 13.

In June 2011, Russia signed a 1.2 billion euro ($1.5 billion) contract for two Mistral-class helicopter carrier ships with France. French President Francois Hollande has threatened to suspend the deliveries of the ships to Russia over Moscow's alleged involvement in the Ukrainian conflict.

The handover ceremony of the first ship, the Vladivostok, was scheduled for November 14. The event has not taken place. A high-ranking defense source told RIA Novosti last week that Russia will wait until the end of November for Paris to hand over the ship before making "serious claims."

The 400 sailors trained to operate the Mistral-class amphibious warship Vladivostok left the French port of Saint-Nazaire on Thursday, according to a video posted by a Saint-Nazaire city official.

The Russian Navy crew ship Smolny is seen in the video departing the port city around 2 p.m. local time (8 a.m. EST) to the waves of locals.

“Welcome back to the motherland and soon,” reads a translation from city official Jean Claude Blanchard’s Facebook page.
“Saint-Nazaire will miss you. Some Russian flags waving… goodbye friends.”

Construction of Second Mistral Gives Hope for Fulfilment of Contract

The ongoing construction of the second “Mistral” at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire brings hope in the performance of the contract by the French side. This was announced by the Deputy Director General of the state corporation “Rostec” on foreign economic cooperation Dmitry Shugaev.

“We are all witnesses to the fact that the first ship “Mistral” is not delivered, while the second is being built. This gives hope that the problem will be solved. We hope for a positive outcome of all this history,” he said in radio station “Echo of Moscow”.

According to Shugaev, France also hardly likes this story of “Mistral”, “because it shows our French comrades not with the best hand.”

He also did not rule out that the situation around the “Mistral” could serve as one of the reasons for the refusal of India on purchases of French fighters Rafale.

The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, and the President of the Russian Federation, Mr Vladimir Putin, gave today, in Moscow, a joint press conference.

After the opening statements the two Presidents responded to questions posed by journalists.

In response to a question on the importance of the defense and energy agreements signed, in view of the sensitivity and prospects of the Eastern Mediterranean region, President Putin said: “As I said earlier, the friendly relations between our countries are not aimed against anyone; our goal is to implement our national objectives for the good of our people, and our cooperation does not harm anyone.

Today, you witnessed the signing of many documents concerning defense cooperation. For example, this pertains to our military ships’ entry into Cyprus ports. These are primarily Russian ships participating in international efforts to fight terrorism, international piracy, etc.

First, I do not think that this could be a source of concern for anyone. Second, this is our joint work, and in this respect, we can also discuss the contribution by Cyprus to these joint efforts, and I’m confident they will bring results in those highly important, pressing areas of fighting the threats we face today, including in this region of the world.
