Alguém me sabe dizer se já há algum armeiro em portugal a fazer revestimentos nas armas com "cerakote"?

Nem sempre o DIY corre bem e este foi mais um caso disso. Bastantes interrupções de tiro pr o trabalho não ter sido o melhor. Por isso é que procurava quem fizesse por cá mas parece que há um gap neste campo por cá. Em espanha e em inglaterra têm armeiros que realizam este tipo de trabalhos.

Estava a falar com um meu conhecido acerca do que tinhamos à mais de 10 anos atrás em contraste com o que se usa agora e ele falou-me de "war belts". Eu nunca tinha ouvido falar disso e pensei nos antigos cinturões.



Depois ele disse-me que já havia pelo menos uma unidade em Portugal que os seus integrantes usam "war belts" com porta placas.

Para mim os war belts fazem todo o sentido. Eu falo frequentemente com um veterano da Guerra do Ultramar e segundo ele, quando iam para uma missão eles levavam bem mais do que os carregadores que o pessoal leva no colete tático. Estamos a falar de uma pessoa que foi promovida por mérito, por isso tem obrigação de saber o que fala.

Na minha perspectiva, um war belt é uma simples recriação do velhinho cinturão, agora com muito mais conforto e com outras possibilidades. Sendo assim penso que faz todo o sentido que se use as duas coisas de forma a distribuir melhor o material (porta carregadores, porta granadas, material de transmissões, kit de socorrismo, etc).

Também posso ser apenas eu, mas por vezes quando estou a ver videos no youtube e vejo fulanos com os porta placas cheios de tralha faz-me alguma confusão, afinal eles querem um porta placas ou um colete tático?!

Na minha perspectiva um porta placas é mais pequeno que um colete tático/balistico, podendo levar algum material, mas deixando o que é mais volumoso para os war belts. Nunca fiz queda na máscara com esse material, mas imagino que um militar com um simples porta placas e um war belt com o material divido entre estes dois iténs, consiga rastejar e fazer fogo deitado de uma forma mais confortável do que com um colete daqueles muito volumosos que foram adquiridos para os Comandos no Afeganistão.

Mas isto são apenas divagações de um civil.

PS: "war belt" numa tradução possível chamar-se-ia de cinturão tático?

German Soldiers Don’t Trust Their Battle Rifle

Everyone has heard of the formidable German assault rifle, the G36—the successor to the reliable G3. Both are Heckler & Koch products.

You can find the G3—or the CMTE derivative—all around the world, as the rifle is in the top five for small arms sales.

The G36 is different. It’s actually quite rare outside of Europe. And for good reason. It’s got a bad reputation.

In 2009, the Bundeswehr boosted its operations in Afghanistan. Soldiers talked about their G36s overheating in Afghanistan’s hot summers. But there was no hard evidence of that happening.

This changed on Good Friday in 2010, during the most intensive skirmish involving German troops since World War II—a firefight that left three paratroopers dead. For 10 hours, the paratroopers fought off a Taliban ambush in the Char Darrah district, together firing 28,000 rounds.

Subsequent investigations suggest no Taliban were critically injured that day—although to be fair, the report claiming so isn’t publicly available.

Helmet-camera footage and eyewitness accounts of the fight prove that the G36s overheated. Soldiers had to let them cool down before they would operate properly again.

However, by this time the German government had introduced an updated version of the G36, replacing the integrated reflex sight with a modular reflex sight.

Fast forward to the present day. Investigations have proved time and time again the rifle’s unreliability. The Ministry of Defense downplayed, disputed or interfered with the reports in order to avoid a larger scandal.

There were new reports this fall, blaming faulty ammunition and overheating for the inaccuracy. The civil servant in charge at the ministry disliked this result and asked for a second and third revision until the reporting fit the ministry’s official narrative.

But in protest, the examiner who conducted and wrote the report handed it over to the military ombudsman.

And where do we go from here? This summer the Bundeswehr halted additional purchases of G36s, due to the ongoing investigations. The political implications aren’t clear yet.

For the soldiers who must go to war with a potentially unreliable weapon, the controversy is business as usual. Few believe the official reports and fall back on firsthand experience. German soldiers tend to be suspicious of their G36s and try to keep them cool, especially their barrels.

Some hope to become a designated marksman, equipped with a scoped G3—a version of the weapon the G36 was supposed to replace.

O Exército Alemão está a receber uma versão super-mega cara da HK416 para DM. Em relação à G-36... eles falam muito mas não é só os Alemães que usam ela no Afeganistão, no entanto são os únicos que se queixam.
