In a report issued Thursday, Norway's National Audit Office found that the F-35 will cost over $32 billion over its life-cycle, and that because the defense ministry underestimated costs and manning levels, the aircraft will miss the 2025 deadline for full operational capability established by Parliament. OSLO --- The Ministry of Defense has done too little, too late when phasing in the new F-35 fighter jets. The goal of full operational capability in 2025 will not be reached and the budgets for the F-35 have been unrealistic. The National Audit Office is strongly critical of the ministry.
