PORTUGAL SIGNS DEFENCE DEAL WITH UKRAINE

LISBON, June 24, 2008 (AFP) - Portugal on Tuesday signed an agreement with Ukraine over defence cooperation, presented as firm backing for Kiev's NATO and European Union membership aspirations.
    Portuguese premier Jose Socrates joined Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko for the signing ceremony, with the Lisbon government saying the deal was agreed within a framework of "Euro-Atlantic partnership for NATO peace."
    During a news conference, Yushchenko reiterated that NATO and EU membership remains the primary goal of his presidency.
    "Portugal will support Ukraine in these objectives," Socrates said.
    Military exchanges are aimed at "improving the organisation of the Ukrainian armed forces (and) their training for participation in United Nations peace operations," a statement released by the Portuguese government said.
    A further accord on cooperation in the fight against organised crime will also see information and training exchanges.
    Meanwhile, Yushchenko thanked the Portuguese government for the welcome it has given some 37,000 Ukrainian nationals, who make up Portugal's third-largest immigrant group after Cape Verde and Brazilian nationals.
    "Portuguese immigration legislation is one of Europe's most progressive," Yushchenko said.

Em concreto, alguém sabe do que é que trata tal acordo?

Eu sinceramente, tambem não percebi o acordo com os Ucranianos. Mas Gostava que este sistema estivesse envolvido nesse acordo.

mas opinião pessoal, é mais um acordo de transferência de  conhecimentos e treino.

O acordo não parece ter nada de armamentos.
Mas o S-300 não é russo ?
Afinal até os gregos têm S-300.

A não ser que nos vendessem tanques Yatagan, para substituir os Leo-2A6 :mrgreen:

Provavelmente vamos apenas treinar uns quantos ucranianos e mais nada que isso. A Ucrânia tem interesse nisso, pois tudo quanto for relacionamento com a NATO e padrões NATO é vantajoso para uma força armada que ainda é em grande medida soviética.

Talvez pudessemos fazer uma listagem de equipamentos ucranianos.

Eu falei no S300, pois fiquem com a ideia que o S300 também fosse fabricado na Ucrânia. :oops:
