Este míssil se mantiver as características do AARGM-ER no qual é baseado, e sendo capaz de atacar vários tipos de alvos, hipoteticamente navios inclusive, isto dará ao F-35 (e não só) uma arma ar-superfície supersónica (Mach 4), que poderá ser um game changer (especialmente se for exportada para aliados).

OSLO --- The Ministry of Defense has done too little, too late when phasing in the new F-35 fighter jets. The goal of full operational capability in 2025 will not be reached and the budgets for the F-35 have been unrealistic. The National Audit Office is strongly critical of the ministry.

É uma pipa de massa!!

32.000 Milhões para operar 52 aeronaves durante 40 anos equivale a 800 Milhões/ ano ou cerca de 15 milhões/Aeronave/ Ano.

Se a FAP fizesse uma encomenda de 20 F-35, significava que por ano teria uma despesa só para esta frota de cerca de 300 Milhões.

Mas suponhamos que apenas adquiria 12 Caças, para só uma mini ESQ, mesmo para este número de aeronaves teria que dispender anualmente 180 Milhões.

O Orçamento da FAP deste ano foi de 450 Milhões??

Sempre foi sobretudo um problema de custos. Até acredito que parte dos problemas do avião desapareçam com o tempo, seja numa versão simplificada ou eventualmente porque a LM os resolverá, agora os custos, mesmo que baixem serão sempre altos. Pelo menos altos demais para a realidade de Portugal e outros países.

O programa F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, o sistema de armas mais caro da história, continua sendo objeto de intenso debate sobre seu custo e capacidades. Inicialmente apresentado como uma aeronave multiuso de baixo custo, o F-35 vem sofrendo com estouro de custos e atrasos, com estimativas de que o custo total do programa agora ultrapasse US$ 1,5 trilhão ao longo de seus 55 anos de vida útil.

P.S. A lógica para Portugal na minha perspetiva será o V, e lá para 2030 avaliar o que existe no mercado. Pode ser que existam mais uma ou 2 alternativas e que os custos e problemas do F35, estejam na maior parte debelados.
