Bem eu escolheria o binómio ESSM/Standard, a mim parece-me o melhor e mais eficaz e também o mais testado, também o escolheria por ser material americano já que o utilizamos agora seria uma grande mudança passar para o françês ia ter mais custos e penso que a Marinha não teria a ganhar mais com esta mudança.

O Aster 15 tem um sistema de controlo de fogo é baseado num radar electrónico multi-função, é lançado verticalmente e cada módulo contem 8 misseis prontos a serem disparados, tem uma boa capaciadade contra misseis anti-navio "sea skimming" que lhe confere a função de própria defesa do navio.
O Aster 30 tem um sistema de controlo de fogo é baseado num radar electrónico multi-função Arabel, é um missil preparado para a defesa ant-missil de uma frota.

PAAMS (Principal Anti-Air Missile System) satisfies this need.
PAAMS is a 360° (omni-directional) system providing multi-layer air defence to armed fleets or groups of unarmed support and merchant ships. For the first time, it includes three separate missions in a single naval air defence system:
ship self-defence for protection of the PAAMS warship.
local area defence for protection of nearby ships,
ship area defence for protection of a fleet at medium and long range.
PAAMS defeats all forms of threats:
sea skimming anti-ship missiles, cruise missiles, diving anti-radar missiles, fighter aircraft,
saturating and omni-directional attacks,
in electronic warfare environment.
PAAMS uses the Aster surface-to-air super agile anti-missile missile equipped with an electromagnetic active homing head which has hit-to-kill (direct impact) capabilities.
PAAMS is being developed for use with either the BAE SYSTEMS’ Sampson or Alenia Marconi Systems’ Empar multi function radars.
The PAAMS-ASTER 15/ASTER 30 system comprises:
A long-range surveillance radar (T18 50M)
A fire control system based on a multifunction electronic scanning radar. Two radars have been chosen: Empar (Italian and French navies), and Sampson (British navy).
Dual-missile vertical launchers, with each module containing eight ready-to-fire missiles.
ASTER 15 and ASTER 30 anti-missile missiles.
