  https://comum.rcaap.pt/handle/10400.26/11524

Recomendo a leitura.

Future operators

United Kingdom: British Army - 528 vehicles from 2022. Following an announcement on 31 March 2018 by the UK government that it was re-joining the Boxer programme, the UK government announced on 3 April that Boxer had been selected by the British Army to meet its Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV) requirement.[24][25] On 19 July the UK MoD disclosed its intent to order between 400 and 600 Boxer with options for a further 900, leading to a potential maximum procurement of 1500 vehicles.[63] If procured, the first vehicles are due to enter service in 2023. As a result of the UK's intended larger order and its return to being a program partner, an option to build and export Boxer from the UK will be explored.[64][65] In January 2019 Rheinmetall announced that subject to government approvals the company would buy a 55% share of UK-based BAE Systems' land business for £28.6 m. The joint venture (JV) would be called Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) and be headquartered at BAE's existing facility in Telford, Shropshire. If successful, the JV will have a positive effect on the MIV procurement.[66][67][68] On November 5, 2019, it was announced that a £2.3 billion deal for more than 500 Boxer armoured vehicles had been signed. There will be four variants, for a total of 528 units. Deliveries will start in 2023.[69][70]

Algeria: Algerian Army – production under license will start in 2020 500 units will be produced by 2023[56].[71][72]

Possible future operators

Slovenia: Slovenian Ground Force – In February 2018, the Slovenian Ministry of Defence selected the Boxer as the base vehicle around which to form a two new mechanised infantry battlegroups. The procurement was to proceed through OCCAR and a[73][74] 'kick off meeting' was held on 13 March 2018. The actual contract was expected to be signed Q4 2018 and the first series vehicle was planned to be delivered end of 2020.[75] It was reported in early 2019 that Slovenia's accession to OCCAR alongside a contract for the vehicles had been suspended, the MoD deciding to conduct a new tactical study, this likely to affect the procurement of 8×8 wheeled armoured vehicles.[76]

Boxer armored vehicle unveiled with KMW Leguan bridging system

The Boxer is a wheeled multirole armored vehicle that can be configured to conduct different types of missions. The vehicle is based on a modular design consisting of two main parts including the driver/engine module and the removable mission module. A bridgelayer module is available for the Boxer that can be used to lay one 14 m length bridge in less than five minutes.

The drive module of the Boxer 8x8 armored vehicle consists of the driver position located at the front right, with the power pack on its left. The mission module is a key (and unique) feature of Boxer, it allows the vehicle to be rapidly changed to meet different operational requirements. Boxer mission modules are pod-like units that are fitted to drive modules to form a complete mission variant vehicle. Mission modules are attached by four points and can be swapped within an hour under field conditions. The driver can access his compartment through the mission module or in an emergency via the large single-piece power-operated hatch above this position.

Thanks to its key feature, the Boxer can be configured as an armored personnel carrier, infantry fighting vehicle, command post as well as bridgelayer that can be used by engineer troops to assist militaries in rapidly deploying tanks and other armored fighting vehicles across gap-type obstacles, such as (and primarily) rivers.

The Boxer bridgelayer is fitted with a bridge mission module that enables the vehicle to launch two bridge types including a 14-meter MLC 100 or 22-metre MLC 50. The bridge launcher system doesn't use a scissor system but rather slides the two sections forward horizontally to reduce signature. The same launch system is used by Leopard 2 bridgelayer.

The fully automatic laying system enables bridges to be constructed in approximately five minutes. The tactical advantage of the system is to be found in its horizontal laying technique which preserves the low silhouette on missions. The operation is automated and performed by the driver via a system menu, but can also be performed independently by the commander.

Elbit Systems from Israel offers Sabrah Light Tank for Philippines Light Tank Acquisition Project

According to information released on the Facebook account of MaxDefense Philippines on October 4, 2020, the Israeli company Elbit Systems has offered its new Sabrah Light Tank for the Philippine Army's Light Tank Acquisition Project, which is in competition with Hanwha Systems K21-105 and Otokar Arma 105 light tanks, and Pindad Harimau Light Tank.

Drawing of Elbit Systems Sabrah 105mm light tank based on tracked platform ASCOD 2 from GDELS. (Picture source Elbit Systems)

The Elbit Systems Sabrah light tank is available in two configurations including a tracked variant based on the General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) ASCOD 2 and a wheeled version based on the Pandur II 8x8 armored vehicle also produced by GDELS.

Elbit Systems’ “Sabrah” configurable light tank solution adds highly effective firepower to Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFV’s). Based on the success of our fully combat-proven armored vehicles and turrets in use by numerous armed forces around the world, the “Sabrah” series of solutions is the latest generation AFV system developed by Elbit Systems. The modular design enables using the same 105mm turret for tracked or 8X8 wheeled platforms to deliver reliable, high-performance firepower to the battlefield.

The Sabrah turret design benefits from the reference of Elbit Systems and the IDF “Merkava” Directorate “MANTAK” combat-proven Armored Vehicles. The turrets, Fire Control Systems (FCS), electro-optics, and 105mm tank guns are in use by the IDF as well as numerous other armed forces around the world. The Booth version of the Sabrah light tank is fitted with a two-man turret armed with an Elbit Systems Land 105mm gun and one 7.62mm coaxial machine gun. Each side of the turret are equipped with a bank of four smoke grenade dischargers. The turret drive is fully electric with elevation and traverse stabilization

Standard equipment of the turret includes a fire control system, laser range finder, and one panoramic sight with advanced Electro-Optic sensors (Day, Night-Vision, and LRF) for an effective day, night, and all-weather fighting conditions. The panoramic sight is used for observation and target aiming.

The 105 mm gun system is fitted with an automatic loading system with 12 rounds ready to fire. The vehicle carries a total of 36 ammunition, with 24 rounds stored in the hull. The gun can fire a wide range of NATO ammunition including HEP-T (High-explosive), HESH (High-explosive squash head), APFSDS (Armour-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot) as well as advanced ammunition, T-MP-HE M110.

The 105 mm gun has an effective firing range of 3,600m with a rate of fire of 6 rounds per minute.

The Pandur II 8x8 armored offers a unique solution of wheel suspensions characterized by robust chassis components, optimum riding comfort and minimum maintenance effort. Wheel contact with the terrain is comparable to caterpillar movement. All drivetrain parts are fully covered and protected by hull armor. This unique solution provides better protection and bigger ground clearance.

The Pandur is fitted with an Automatic Drivetrain Management (ADM) system. With sensors that check the drivetrain automatically, the unit adjusts power for each axle and wheel according to road/terrain conditions, so the driver can fully concentrate on the tactical mission. This solution enables minimal requirements for driver training.

The tracked platform is a continuous evolution of the well-known and successful ASCOD concept, featuring sophisticated tracked systems and protection technology. Due to ongoing development and technology insertion, the ASCOD offers advanced protection and mobility, large internal volume at very compact dimensions, and a large payload at low GVW.

The ASCOD is a seven wheel station chassis that incorporates the primary common subsystems of power pack, running gear and fuel, within a monocoque welded steel hull construction. The chassis provides the ASCOD with its mobility/mine protection characteristics and acts as the interface for all other primary subsystems.

The power pack is located in the front, on the right hand side, in a chamber sealed off from the crew compartment.
