Neste momento a classe VdG têm os radares DA-08 (2D, Médio/Longo alcance) e o MW-08 (3D, Médio/ Curto alcance); A classe BD têm LW-08 (2D Médio/ Longo alcance) e SMART-S (3D Médio/ Curto alcance), certo?

The Thales LW08 is a 2-D radar system that equips the cruiser, a radar that  performs the long-range air surveillance in D-band (L-band), providing target indication to weapon control systems. LW08 presents a clear picture of the environment; it does so, reliably, under any circumstances. LW08 performs with great frequency agility over a wide band, due to its synthesizer-driven TWT transmitter. Excellent performance under various clutter conditions is ensured by the wide dynamic range receiver with application of digital video processing, supported by circular polarization. The LW08 antenna has a low side-lobe level, which assists the system in operating under ECM conditions. The radar can detect a small missile from 100km or a fighter aircraft from 230km flying with Mach 4 while the tracking capacity is 400 tracks. Minimum range is 2km.

The Thales DA-08 2-D radar is a coherent E/F-band (S-band) radar for medium range surveillance, providing target indication to weapon control systems. This radar derives from the LW-08. DA 08 is located on the foremast and it presents a clear picture of the environment; it does so, reliably, under any circumstances with accuracy; and it does it without adding great weight to the superstructure of the ship due to its lightweight construction and hydraulically controlled stabilization platform. Excellent performance under various clutter conditions is ensured by the wide dynamic range receiver with application of digital video processing, supported by circular polarization. The DA-08 antenna has a low side-lobe level, which assists the system in operating under ECM conditions. Claimed range on a 2m² target is 78-92n.m. and minimum range is 0.8n.m.

Pelo que percebo o MW-08 das VdG vai ser substituído, em principio por algo necessariamente melhor - que o "idoso" - SMART-S da classe BD? E, talvez, com um 2D LPI? E com um, também novo, "tracking & Illuminator Radar"? Ficam assim com melhores sensores "radar" que a classe BD? Mas sem VLS e (talvez) Vigile D?

Eu não sou a melhor fonte, mas lendo os requisitos o novo radar deve estar mais ou menos ao mesmo nível do SMART-S. Não sei se vai ser o Vigile D, já que para isso era preciso que a Thales levasse o contrato, mas será material novo.

Antes da próxima revisão "intercalar" da LPM duvido que seja feito algo... e mesmo assim era necessário que os partidos do "arco do poder" primeiro perceberem a situação e/ou muita pressão da UE / NATO.

As VdG recusam-se a morrer e a Marinha/governo recusam matá-las... temos zumbis/mutantes para 200 anos sem problemas!*

Pelo que percebo o MW-08 das VdG vai ser substituído, em principio por algo necessariamente melhor - que o "idoso" - SMART-S da classe BD? E, talvez, com um 2D LPI? E com um, também novo, "tracking & Illuminator Radar"? Ficam assim com melhores sensores "radar" que a classe BD? Mas sem VLS e (talvez) Vigile D?

Se o objetivo é modernizar as VdG para durarem até 2035 (o que é um erro, deviamos avançar para a substituição das VdG nos proximos anos...) e vamos investir em novos radares e sensores, então que se invista num modulo VLS para ESSM. Não faz sentido é investir na modernização das fragatas e continuar apenas com um lançador de 8 Sea Sparrow...

Convém não embandeirar em arco porque nada está ainda preto no branco.

Sabe-se, e nas palavras do CEMFA:

1 - que o escolhido é o F-35A;
2 - que o programa deverá custar em torno de 5,5MM€ a 20 anos;
3 - que após ser colocada formalmente a encomenda, o primeiro Lightning II só deverá ser entregue 7 anos mais tarde;
4 - que para a chegada da(s) primeira(s) aeronave(s) ser em 2031, isso significava encomendá-las ainda este ano (2024 + 7 = 2031), e não é líquido que isso venha a acontecer;
5 - que os F-16M (ou V) deverão pelo menos chegar aos 40 anos de serviço na FAP.


Agora resta aguardar pelo poder político. O CEMFA até pode não ter um caderno de encargos para entregar ou apresentar ao novo MDN, mas já deixou bem claro o que o ramo espera e deseja ver concretizado.

A fazer fé na informação do Subsea de que o plano de longo prazo inclui 40 aviões, parece-me um excelente ponto de partida negocial, sabendo que o cenário final dificilmente será esse. Com números destes, se quando tudo estiver finalizado a FAP comprar 30 aviões, o custo total ficará possivelmente abaixo dos 4 mil milhões, o que a 20 anos é comportável… a ver vamos… rezar e fazer figas é o que se pode fazer para já…
