No cumprimento dos discursos na televisão israelita a apelar ao extermínio da população civil em Gaza,
https://x.com/owenjonesjourno/status/1864294916085493792?t=UvgwmhyBXoJdbApKEm-b4g&s=19

In mid-September, five young Palestinians attempted to cross the territory held by the IDF from the Gaza Strip in the Nussirat area northward, toward Gaza City. This area has long been known as the “Netzarim Corridor,” after the settlement that used to be there (or the “Be’eri Corridor,” as the IDF is trying to get it to be called). But it is not a corridor, because unlike a corridor in its dictionary definition, this area does not lead from anywhere to anywhere. It is a rectangle of about 50 square kilometers, which the IDF holds and demarcates between Israel to the east, Gaza City to the north, Nussirat and al-Bureij to the south, and the Mediterranean Sea to the west. At the beginning of the war, the IDF defined the Gaza Strip—a channel through which black sludge of sewage and filth flows—as a line that Palestinians are only allowed to be south of. During the maneuver phase in the northern Gaza Strip, which began after the massacre in October and lasted until the end of 2023, the IDF repeatedly ordered the Gazans to move to and away from the stream. Most of them heeded the warnings and fled south, leaving the northern Gaza Strip largely deserted of its residents. Although estimates speak of between 100,000 and 300,000 residents remaining in the northern Gaza Strip, this is a negligible minority compared to the number of residents who were there before October 7.
The five Palestinians knew all this. They began marching north, and were quickly captured by a force from my reserve battalion, which had arrived in the area only a few days earlier. They were handcuffed, and after being blindfolded with a flannel, they were brought to one of the large outposts. Not long after, members of Unit 504 arrived to interrogate the detainees, making sure to separate them during and after the interrogation.

The interrogation did not seem violent, and in between, the guards from the reserve battalion gave the detainees water. The treatment, it seems, was as respectful as the situation allows. Towards evening, the investigators had to decide which of the five would be released, if any, and which would be transferred for further interrogation in Israel. "We see that you are only here for a few days," the investigators told me with a smile when I asked what the decision was and how to carry out the release of those who are not needed for further interrogation. When I asked how he knew we were new, he smiled again and replied: "Because you are still bringing in prisoners."
A human life in the Gaza Strip is worth less than the lives of the thousands of stray dogs that roam it looking for food. While there is a clear order prohibiting shooting dogs, unless a soldier is in real danger when the dog's jaws are locked on him, humans are allowed to be shot without any real restrictions, except for the personal moral boundaries of the soldier holding the weapon.
29 years have passed since I enlisted in the IDF and studied the document called "IDF Values," which was later replaced by the "IDF Spirit," and then by the "Code of Ethics for the Fight against Terrorism." Everyone tried to create a quasi-statutory framework of guidelines and rules that would allow soldiers to maintain normativity when carrying out their mission. All of these have been thrown out the window since October 7. In other words, officially they are still in effect, but in practice any honest man in his eyes will do.
The climax was when a senior commander received a report of an unarmed man who raised his hands and waved a white flag, and he said: "Fire in order to" (kill)

In the past, the government claimed that it was holding this area to be used as a bargaining chip in a deal to release the hostages. In such a situation, everyone would agree, this is an unparalleled moral mission: I would agree to sit there for another four months without leaving home, if I knew that by doing so I would bring the hostages' release closer. But at the end of August, the cabinet decided that the Philadelphi Highway and the Netzarim area would not be used as bargaining chips in a deal to release the hostages, thus eliminating the moral basis for holding the area.
When we arrived in the sector, we heard the division commander's lecture a few days after the cabinet decision; he said that the mission was moral and strategic. He said it and did not elaborate. Pessimists will say that he did not want to say that Israel planned to expel all the Palestinians from the northern Gaza Strip and build settlements there. In my opinion, he was simply embarrassed, like all of us, because the cabinet decision meant that the mission of holding the area no longer served any purpose that could be agreed upon or even explained.
In the meantime, until the goal becomes clear, something needs to be done. So what do we do? Systematic destruction of buildings. In this “corridor” area, it is impossible to find an entire building that is more than half a meter high, except for the buildings that the IDF uses. They have all been blown up. The exceptions are the Islamic University, which Barak Hiram ordered to be blown up, and only the outer frame of the building is still standing, more or less, and the Turkish hospital, which is still standing despite numerous gunshot wounds. Everything else is gone.
Where once there were neighborhoods and houses, there is now sea sand and dust. The dunes are slowly covering the little concrete that did not explode, and in a few months no one will be able to guess that there were families, roads, cars, schools, fields, greenhouses there. Only a few stubborn plants and trees somehow managed to survive the explosions of the houses and the D9 shells.
Most of the “work” was done before we arrived at the scene. Our task, which it is not clear who decided on, was to destroy more and more houses across the Gaza River: the place where the Gazans were ordered to move. The official goal is to move the line The contact, but no one can explain why. After all, the Palestinians need a place to be, and that's where the IDF demanded they move. And yet, we blow up their houses.
The method is quite simple: raid a certain area, make sure it's empty of people (and if not, remove the residents) and set off explosives. It used to be customary to use standard explosives, but in January-February we were already using old mines, and today we use all kinds of chemicals to create the required explosion. This reflects the need more than anything else: the weapons factories don't meet the requirements, and there are still a lot of buildings in the Strip to blow up.
The Gaza Strip is not the "border" between the territory the IDF holds and the rest of the Strip. This border is south of it, and no one tells the Palestinians what the red line is that they are not allowed to cross when they move north, towards the corridor. They find out the hard way: they are shot to death when they approach the imaginary line that the IDF decided on, and it changes from time to time. The line is not marked on the ground, and the commander in the sector must decide whether to conduct a distance shot (shoot close to them so that they understand that the guard will stay away) or allow them to get closer and then "shoot them in order." In order to kill, that is.

Whether they were Hamas members who came to gather intelligence or to remove items from their homes and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time — the second the sniper bullets, or the grenade dropped from a drone, or the mortar shell fired from a distance hit them, they officially become terrorists and enter the statistics that will appear the next day in the IDF spokesman’s statement praising the heroism of the fighters who further reduced the number of terrorists in the Strip.
One day, a general warning was received that a Hamas observation post might be located in one of the buildings south of the Gaza Strip and the corridor. Not that anyone was seen observing, not that anyone heard of anyone observing, not that anyone knew anything — it was information that came from field analysis, or from a phone conversation that was overheard in one way or another. There is no knowing, and anyway it is not at our level in terms of intelligence exposure.
At that moment, that building became a suspect — with a certain degree of justice. But in Gaza, the slightest suspicion is enough To bring about the death of Palestinians (who, as mentioned, become terrorists upon their death). The next morning, a man was seen in the same building hanging laundry on the roof, and the UAV flying overhead reported this. The general alert was immediately put in place in the sector, and the UAV operator was asked if he recognized an observation device next to the laundry hanger suspected of being a potential observer. He said no, and that he saw other people near one of the corners of the building. This was not unusual in the morning in the heart of a civilian settlement, but during the conversation between the UAV and the other elements in the sector, someone used the word "dirty" instead of "person." "Dirty" is a code name for a terrorist. This word, uttered by someone in a radio conversation, was enough to give permission for a tank in the sector to fire on the building.
The drone operator demanded a halt almost immediately after the shell was fired, shouting, "What are you shooting at?" And while the tank prepared itself for another shot, it was decided to stop. The drone and the observations definitely identified Red Crescent ambulances removing many stretchers from the building that had been attacked. The result, according to the Palestinians, was many wounded and eight killed, including children.
And so the days passed, with dozens of buildings being blown up almost every week, and occasionally Palestinians who crossed an imaginary red line being killed. Things reached a climax when one of the senior commanders in the sector ordered the shooting of a man who was waving a white flag and raising his hands, when he was unarmed and very far from IDF forces. When he was told that the man was holding a white flag and it was clearly seen that he was not armed, he replied: "I don't know what a white flag is, shoot in order." No one carried out the order, and it is understood that the commanders in the field knew that it was a clearly illegal order. But the fact that it was given testifies more than anything worth the IDF values document I know. The lives of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip depend first and foremost on the private and personal scale of values of the commanders in the Strip. Whoever wants to kill Arabs because they are Arabs will indeed kill Arabs, and no one will ask him questions, interrogate him, or punish him. Whoever tries to maintain a humane image will maintain it, but will know that his replacements in the sector may not share the same scale of values with him. So the man who survived as a result of his decision today will probably die tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then the day after.
In mid-November we finished the mission in the Netzarim "corridor" and were replaced by another brigade.

Haim Har Zahav, reservista do exército, fez 3 meses em Gaza.

According to the @IDF, as of the end of November 2024 they had destroyed 90% of Hamas rocket supplies, killed 22,000 Hamas combatants to include Yahya Sinwar (leader of Hamas in Gaza), Mohammed Deif (head of Hamas military wing, 2nd in command), Marwan Issa, 8 Brigade Commanders, 30 Battalion Commanders, 165 Company Commanders. Effectively destroying (unable to do their assigned military task or reconstitute to do organized military collective operations) Hamas's military power. Hamas is now a guerrilla, criminal gang, terrorist group in Gaza attempting to maintain political power in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF also continue daily humanitarian aid deliveries adding up to over 1 million tons (or 2.2 million pounds) of aid deliver.
