Project Reality

Em caso que alguns dos participantes do forum tenham o jogo "battlefield 2" (e se não o tiverem, comprem porque é barato), existe um "mod" que é muito interessante, e que proporciona uma experiência bem diferente do jogo regular.

O site do mod:  http://www.realitymod.com/

Uma descrição dos elementos que fazem parte do jogo.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEW FEATURES AND GAME PLAY ADDITIONS

-New Commander/Squad Leader Build System
Many Improvements have been made to the Commander Building System, making it more intuitive and teamwork centric. A lot of the 'rules' with this system have been tweaked and wherever possible, simplified. The number one change is that squad leaders are now able to place the commander assets. This gives the commander much more flexibility in placement and allows him to concentrate on the battle as a whole, acting less like a construction foreman and more as a battlefield commander!

-New Commander Functions
We have worked hard to create many new systems that will help commanders give orders to his team and make commander strategies a real possibility. Examples of this ability will be seen in the setting of landing zones, build orders, and close air support.

-New Commander Feature: GPS Guided Bomb Area Attack
GPS Guided Bomb ordinance can now be dropped on targets specified by Squad Leaders. This new system relies on using the SOFLAM laser designator to point out hard targets to be destroyed, and must be approved by the commander. These massive bombs are only available after 1 hour of fighting so they will only be used once or twice during an engagement, but the whole battlefield will be aware when one of these devastating bombs hits a target. This will be a key tool for commanders to break a long standing stalemate and should be used wisely.

-New Commander Feature: SAT Guided Air Strike
A SAT Guided Air Strike can be designated by the Commander to further the improvements to Close Air Support. With this new function the Commander can select any location on his map and request an Air Strike at that location by Jets and Helicopters equipped with laser guided ordinance.

-Close Air Support Improvements
Most aspects of attack aircraft have been completely reworked and tweaked. There are several new features with attack aircraft but all changes are trying to create a dependence on ground troops to work TOGETHER with aircraft. Attack aircraft such as the new British Eurofighter Jet and US Cobra Helicopter have laser guided ordinance including bombs and missiles. The Commander, Officers, and Special Forces can laser designate targets with their SOFLAM providing a laser signature for the aircraft to lock on to and attack.

-Transport Role Improvements
Being a dedicated transport player has just became a whole lot more interesting, and most of the time, necessary for a team’s continued success.

-New Ammo Resupply System
Ammunition conservation will finally be a new element in Project Reality. A commander will now have to think a bit more about logistics when attacking an enemy. We have removed many of the 'auto' rearming places in Project Reality and made ammunition resupply a much more easily identifiable location and a much more strategic element. Running out of ammo because you have over extended yourself is now a very real possibility, more so than any other version of PR.

-Spawn Point Revision
We have revisited the spawn system again to allow for a much more tactically engaging game play. We acknowledge that the game play in v0.6 was far faster paced and arcade like than we thought it would have been, and we have made changes accordingly. This new system puts the spawning capabilities of a team ENTIRELY in the hands of the players. This will promote more teamwork and bridge together the aspects of squad members and squad leaders working together, with the commander to form a whole new dimension of Team Work.

-HUD Improvements
A lot of changes to the HUD system have been made to help increase visual awareness and make PR a more visceral and immersive game. PR will now have a much more pleasantly attractive visual appearance that will especially please all those with high end rigs.

-Long Range Distant Weapon Sound Effects
All caliber weapons have been given a 'distant' sound to them. What this means, is that after 200+ meters, instead of hearing the regular sound of the weapon, you will hear a much more faint cracking sound. Again, its very critical that you have a sound card that supports EAX, and preferably a sound card that you can select 'HARDWARE' to get the most benefits from these sound changes.

-Sound Improvements
Nearly all infantry weapons have had their sounds completely redone or heavily tweaked! All infantry weapons have a much more realistic sound now. Many other sounds have been redone and tweaked too!

-Infantry, Vehicle and Map Tweaks galore!
Various improvements and tweaks to infantry kits, vehicle handling and weapon systems as well as game mode and map balance tweaks. Infantry and vehicle improvements include small arms fire deviation model not to mention anti-aircraft missile improvements.

-Counter-Attack Game Mode
In this new game mode one team starts on defense and cannot re-take fallen control points. The defending team has the objective of preventing the enemy from capturing all Control Points before their reinforcements arrive (usually after 30-45 minutes). If the defenders survive until then, they will receive additional vehicles and/or tickets to initiate a counter-attack! At this point, the game mechanics are similar to Assault and Secure mode, and the defending team can re-take lost CP's.

NEW WEAPONS AND VEHICLES

-USMC M16A4 ACOG and Iron Sights
The vanilla BF2’s M16 has been scrapped and replaced with our own sexy model and skin. There are currently two variants of the rifle, the famous M16A4 with “ACOG”, which has a 4x optical sight, and the M16A4 “Iron Sights” variant, which is the standard, non-scoped version of the rifle. A UGL variant will be seen in a future Project Reality release.

-Insurgent and Militia RPG-7
The placeholder RPG has been replaced by a much more realistic RPG with Iron Sights.

-Insurgent IED (Improvised Explosive Device)
The new Insurgent IED is a very powerful explosive carried by Insurgent Ambushers, perfect for roadside ambushes.

-British Scimitar Recon
The British forces have a new addition which comes in the form of the Scimitar Recon Vehicle. This armored vehicle carries a crew of 2 (driver/gunner) and is armed with both a 30mm cannon and 7.62mm chain gun. Its unparalleled ground speed suits its role well as an advance reconnaissance vehicle.

-British Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank
The latest installment of the British Armed Forces concludes the last element of their land based vehicles with the Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank. There are two variants including woodland camo and desert tan.

-British Eurofighter Jet
The first jet of the British Armed Forces is the Eurofighter Jet which comes equipped with cannons, anti-air missiles, and laser guided bombs.

==========================================

Alguma informação:

New Weapons

What first person shooter release would be complete without an array of new handheld toys and weapons to play with. Along with the long overdue overhaul of the grenade launcher systems, the MEC faction has recieved a healthy injection of new small arms and AT systems to further diversify the MEC as a fighting force.

Speaking of injections, the new equipment the medics will be recieving includes an adrenaline injector to replace the defibrillators as well as other tools to help them forfill their battlefield roles.

The militia and insurgents by no means recieve a ton of new instruments and arms to further their causes. From molotovs to cell phones, anti tank grenades to two World War 2 era rifles, both factions are better equipped to fight their aggressors. Many thanks to the Battlefield Korea and Forgotten Hope 2 teams for allowing us the use of their SKS rifle and No.4 SMLE rifles, of which we have adapted for use in Project Reality.

    * All Conventional Factions - Underbarrel Grenade Launchers - M4 M203, M16A4 M203, G3 HK79, L85A2 AG36
    * US Army - M4 Carbine
    * US Army, USMC and British - M249 SAW/Minimi
    * MEC - SSGP1 Sniper Rifle
    * MEC - G3SG1 Rifle
    * MEC - RPG26 Anti Tank
    * British - L85A2 Bayonet
    * British - L86 Light Support Weapon
    * Coalition Factions on Insurgency maps - Zipties
    * Militia and Insurgents - Short Magazine Lee Enfield No.4 Rifle - Ironsights and Scoped
    * Militia and Insurgents - Samozaryadniy Karabin sistemi Simonova (SKS)
    * Insurgents - Molotov Cocktail
    * Insurgents - RKG-3 Anti Tank Grenade
    * Insurgents - Cellular Telephone
    * Medic Tools - Resuscitate Compression
    * Medic Tools - Epinephrine Auto Injector

New Vehicles

With the addition of a new faction, comes new vehicles to compliment its infantry arsenel. We bring to you the heavy assets of the US Army, as well as a few other pieces of mobile equipment to bolster the other factions.

    * US Army - M2A2 Bradley APC
    * US Army - UH-60 Blackhawk
    * US Army - M1126 Stryker ICV
    * US Army and USMC - HMMWV
    * British - Stormer Anti Air Vehicle
    * British - RAF Tornado GR4
    * All Conventional Factions - Return of the support jeeps

New Commander Features

Commanders in this new version while encouraged to remain away from the heat of battle, are given much more efficient tools to do their job with. As well as a couple new toys to ensure the enemy remains on their toes!

    * Enterable Command Post - required for all commander functions
    * Commander placeable map markers to help team coordination
    * Spotting system for squad leaders and commander
    * Commander deployed off-map artillery, mortars and JDAM strikes

New Deployable Assets

Commanders now have a proper means to allow their team to defend their forward positions, as well as holding strong points in a fearsome manner with the addition of heavy machine guns on a stationary platform. The Insurgents also have expanded their capabilities for operations with the addition of deployable hideouts, which work in a similar fashion to that of conventional army forward outposts.

    * All Conventional Factions and Militia - Deployable Heavy Machine Guns
    * Insurgents - Deployable Insurgent Hideouts

New Game Modes

Along with Project Reality's own Insurgency and Counterattack modes, we bring to you more ways to get the most out of the already outstanding maps included in this release.

- Assault and Secure Version 3
In this third installment of Advance And Secure, we include random control points. Inspired by the Insurgency game mode, the addition of randomness to a game mode provides great replayablity with different set of objectives each time you play. Of course, it won't be as random as Insurgency, but still adds different takes on several maps.

- Command & Control (CnC)
This new game mode features large freeform battles. There are no CP’s except for the operations bases. The enemy base can be attacked once all 4 forward outposts have been constructed. Combat can take place at any part of the map as the teams try to advance closer towards the enemy base and fortify vital positions along the way.

- Skirmish
This game mode is a scaled down version of Advance and Secure, intended for fewer players. It is perfect for clan matches and small infantry engagements. Skirmish has the same rules as AAS but with smaller combat zones, fewer CPs, no vehicles or deployable assets as well as fewer tickets.

- Training Mode
This game mode is mainly for training with different equipment and vehicles. Friendly fire is off. Spawning is very fast, and vehicles are abundant. Tickets are unlimited in this mode.

New Animations, Sounds and Effects

At long last we have moved out of an animation drought, and in this release we are proud to bring to Project Reality, all new animations for every single weapon and piece of equipment in the game!

And to match, sounds to accompany these new animations and weapon fire sounds to achieve an immersive experience unmatched by any other first person shooter.

    * Total animation and sound overhaul to immerse the player in the battlefield
    * Slowed down sight transistion times for all weapons, relative to their projected effectiveness on the battlefield
    * New recoil animations to achieve a much more fluid effect when firing
    * Grenades have a hand indicator, showing the general area where the grenade is going to go at throwing
    * Reload animations and times have been extended
    * Light anti-tank, heavy anti-tank and hand-held anti-air launchers have extended deploy times, with animations accompanying them
    * New fire sounds for various weapons, from grenades, explosives, small arms and missile systems
    * New visual effects such as smoke, missile trails, cannon fire, impacts, grenade explosions and area attack impacts

New Maps in Project Reality v0.8

-Korengal Valley

Developed by [R-DEV]coderedfox, this map started off as a community map, with the dev team quickly spotting [R-DEV]coderedfox's potential. The map will feature some very intense Close Quarter Battles, between our new US Army and the Taliban in Northern Afghanistan. With plenty of ambush points for the Taliban to take out oncoming convoys with their IEDs, and plenty of compound and room clearing for the US Army, this is insurgency like you've never seen before. For more information and screenshots, click here.

-Muttrah City (v2)

Developed by [R-DEV]Rhino, this sequel to the infamous coastal city assault will not disappoint. The map has been in development for over a year, with many members of the team putting countless hours of work into making this map as realistic as possible. The map will feature an Amphibious, Air Assault by the USMC in an attempt to capture the Capital of Oman, Muttrah City. However, with MEC forces dug in hard within the city, it will require lots of hard urban combat, with air and ground support on hand to help win the battle. For more information and screenshots, click here.

-Operation Barracuda

Originally developed [R-DEV]duckhunt, [R-DEV]Dr_Rank continued with the map whilst [R-DEV]duckhunt joined the Royal Marine Commandos. This map will offer some very intense combat between the USMC and China, as they defend a small island that has various strategic objectives on it including an Air Field and Missile Silo. The map will feature lots of different types of action such as beach assaults, jungle combat with some helicopter air support thrown into the firefight. For more information and screenshots, click here.

-Ramiel

Developed by [R-DEV]OkitaMakota. Set in a huge expanse of urban slums, this map is sure to reel in memories of the famous Black Hawk Down incident. The map will feature urban combat between the US Army and the Insurgents, who will be setting up ambushes down the narrow corridors, as well as bringing down any Black Hawks coming their way in a attempt to stop the US Army taking out their ammo caches. It's business as usual for the insurgents.
