Manufacturing of Weapon-Locating Radars

Indigenous Weapon Locating Radar (WLR) similar AN/TPQ-37 has been developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in partnership with Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL)., Bangalore.
The development cost of project on WLR is RS 26 cr. The unit cost of manufacturing of radar would depend upon quantum of order, the ground equipment and spares projected.
The Government is not contemplating to make this technology available to other countries.
This information was given by the Defence Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee in a written reply to Shri Devidas Pingle and Prof Mahadeorao Shiwankar in Lok Sabha today
