BNEI BRAK, Israel --- Danny Biran, chairman & CEO of Elisra, announced today that the Elisra group has signed a continuation agreement to supply its SPS-65 advanced defensive aid suite for helicopters, to a western nation.

Estimated at a value over US $6 million, the agreement also calls for the supply of support equipment and spare parts to enable the systems' long term deployment and maintenance.

Danny Biran, Elisra's Chairman and CEO, said that this follows two previous orders valued at US $18M received from the same customer. He added that the Group's technological superiority and product excellence places it in the front line of global helicopter and aircraft defense system manufacturers.

The agreement, calling for the upgrade of existing platforms with Elisra's Defensive Aid Suites, will enable helicopters to be deployed in high-tension areas where air-to-air and ground-to-air threats abound.

Elisra’s integrated EW solution, the SPS-65, identifies and warns combatants of any enemy radar, infrared or laser-based weapons. The system's Jammer provides advanced self-protection jamming capabilities against a full variety of air defense systems.

All types of laser threat are covered - including laser rangefinders, target designators and beam riders. Elisra's SPS-65 can either serve as a new system or be easily integrated to upgrade existing systems, and can integrate Flare and Chaff dispensing systems.

The SPS-65 can be integrated with an existing avionics system and provides full threat information to the avionics subsystems. Alternatively the SPS-65 can operate as a stand-alone system.
